This is a magnesium cast front subframe of a particularly gorgeous car. +1 internets for the person who can guess the car.

There is a distinct desire to pour water on it and let chemistry happen.

EDIT: Great... Kinja has fucking broke hashtags... How will we be hash tag snarky now?

Kinja just hates you for saying mean stuff about Alfa 33 Stradale bits.

Let me guess ... will it be worse than pouring Gallium over Audi's spaceframes?

I would have said the same thing about a BMW N52 outer block. Because it's also magnesium.
Also, chemistry. So the conclusion is that Kinja hates chemistry.

Gallium induces extra brittleness in aluminum, to my understanding. It affects the crystalline structure.
Magnesium (and other group 2 elements besides beryllium) react with water to produce either the metal's hydroxide or oxide, and hydrogen gas. This hydrogen production is summarized as "This metal burns in water"
Group 1 metals have a similar property.

I'd expect the spaceframe to become spongy and very porose, almost falling apart due to its own weight.
Magnesium burning I like, it's so purrrdy .
